CE & CEUs (Explained Simply)

Continuing education varies by profession and course type.

What are CE / CEUs?
Continuing Education (CE) credits and Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are professional learning credits that some employers or licensing bodies require. Acceptance and requirements can vary by profession and organization.
Do Red Cross classes offer CE or CEUs?
Some Red Cross courses are eligible for continuing education credit/units. For workplace/aquatics non-healthcare CEUs, students may receive a CEU certificate (and course certificate) when an email address is provided; if taken through a third-party provider, students should contact that provider/instructor for the CEU certificate.
Will my CE/CEUs be accepted?
Students should verify acceptance with their accrediting organization or employer, since CE/CEU acceptance is determined by the specific accrediting body.
Need CE for your job?

Tell us your profession (EMS, nursing, workplace compliance, etc.) and the course you need. We’ll help you confirm what to expect before you register.

Reminder: CE/CEU acceptance depends on your employer/licensing body.
