1. Public / Scheduled Classes
Cancellation by Participant
- Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the class start time: eligible for refund per our Refund Policy or you may request a transfer to another available class date (subject to availability).
- Cancellations within 48 hours of the class start time: no refund. A one-time transfer may be granted at our discretion.
- No-shows: no refund and no automatic transfer.
Rescheduling by Participant
- One (1) reschedule may be permitted if requested at least 48 hours before the class.
- Additional reschedule requests may be subject to an administrative fee.
- Rescheduled classes must occur within 90 days of the original booking unless otherwise approved.
2. Group / Workplace / On-Site Training
Group and on-site sessions require instructor scheduling, materials preparation, and (in some cases) travel coordination.
- Cancellations more than 7 days before the scheduled date: eligible for refund per our Refund Policy terms.
- Cancellations within 7 days: no refund. Rescheduling may be available based on instructor availability. Travel costs or materials already purchased may be non-refundable.
If a written quote, agreement, or contract exists for your group training, the written agreement governs where applicable.
3. Instructor or Company Cancellation
If First In Safety must cancel or reschedule due to instructor illness, unsafe weather conditions, facility issues, or low enrollment, you may choose one of the following:
- Full refund
- Transfer to another date
- Credit toward future training
4. Weather Policy
- If we determine conditions are unsafe, we will reschedule and provide next-step options.
- If a participant chooses not to attend due to weather but the class proceeds as scheduled, standard cancellation timelines apply.
5. Late Arrival Policy (5 Minutes)
Because these are certification courses and required instructional hours matter, participants must arrive on time.
- If you arrive more than 5 minutes after the scheduled start time, you may be denied entry.
- This rule exists to protect course integrity and ensure required training hours are met.
- If you are denied entry due to late arrival, it may be treated as a no-show and is not eligible for refund.
- If you need to attend a different date, you must follow the rescheduling terms in this policy.
6. Blended Learning (Online Pre-Work) Requirements
Some courses include required online learning that must be completed before the in-person skills session. This is a certification requirement, not optional homework.
- All online pre-work must be completed in full prior to the start time of the in-person class.
- If you fail to fully complete the online coursework prior to class start time, you will not be permitted to attend the in-person session.
- No refund will be given if you are unable to attend due to incomplete online pre-work.
- If you need to move to another date, you must follow the rescheduling policy outlined on this page.
Completion Certificate Requirement
- You must email your online blended learning completion certificate to First In Safety two (2) business days prior to the class start time.
- If we do not receive your completion certificate at least 2 business days prior, this will be treated as a no-show unless you have made other arrangements with First In Safety.
7. Credit Expiration
- If credit is issued, credits must be used within 90 days.
- Credits are non-transferable unless otherwise approved.
8. Certification Requirements
Failure to complete skills evaluations, written exams, required participation, or course requirements does not qualify for a refund.
