How the Class Works

Babysitter’s Training is a hands-on, instructor-led course built around real-life babysitting situations. If you choose the option that includes Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED, you’ll stay longer to complete those additional skills and assessments.

What You’ll Learn

Practical, confidence-building skills that prepare youth to lead, stay calm, and respond well in real situations.

Leadership + Decision-Making

Leadership styles, responsibility, and a simple decision-making model for babysitting scenarios.

Child & Infant Care Basics

Feeding, diapering, holding children safely, bedtime routines, and age-appropriate expectations.

Safety Awareness

Identifying hazards, preventing fires and drowning risks, and handling visitors/strangers and online safety.

Emergency Readiness

CHECK—CALL—CARE, choking response, bleeding control basics, and (optional) Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED.

What ages can take this course?
The Babysitter’s Training program is designed for youth ages 11–16.
Is there an online (blended) option?
Babysitter’s Training is taught via instructor-led training (in-person). If your session includes Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED, that portion may vary by schedule format, but the babysitting topics are taught in person.
How long is the course?
Babysitter’s Training is about 4 hours 50 minutes (excluding breaks). With Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED, it’s about 7 hours 10 minutes (excluding breaks).
How long is the certification valid?
Babysitter’s Training certification is valid for 10 years. If your class includes Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED, that certification is typically valid for 2 years.
What is required to pass?
Students must actively participate and demonstrate competency in required skills. Some options may include scenario-based assessments.
Can you teach this for a group?
Yes. We can host group sessions depending on scheduling and minimums. Use “Request Group Training” to start the process.
